Silent Witness is a BBC tv-series that has been on the air since 1996 and is currently on its 12th season. The premise is three Home Office pathologists who work with the London police (originally Cambridge) to solve crimes. It can be everything from really gruesome murders to unfortunate accidents. In every episode there is usually two or more cases, sometimes connected but oftentimes not. There are 6-8 two-part episodes per series.

Originally the show featured Amanda Burton as Sam Ryan but she left the show in 2004. Now the cast is made up of Emilia Fox as Nikki Alexander, Tom Ward as Harry Cunningham and William Gaminara as Prof. Leo Dalton.
